Volleyball Recap: Mountain View Academy's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Mountain View Academy had won four straight games and Caleb Penaflorida did his part to make it five on Tuesday. The Mustangs came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against The Nueva School Mavericks with plenty of help from Penaflorida, who had 20 digs, four aces, and one block. He is on a roll when it comes to aces, as he's now served three or more in each of the last four games he's played.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Mountain View Academy got the one that really mattered. The final score came out to 25-12, 18-25, 28-26, 23-25, 15-12.

Mountain View Academy's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-4. As for The Nueva School, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-10.

Coming up, Mountain View Academy will be playing at home against Summit Shasta at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for The Nueva School, they will host KIPP Esperanza at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Mavericks are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
