Baseball Recap: Crest Ridge Comes Up Short

Crest Ridge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of the Midway Vikings. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-10 back in April.

Kegan Walsh was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched 6.1 innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits.

On the hitting side, Hunter Carpenter was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. Jackson Hoppenthaler was another key player, earning one run and three stolen bases.

Crest Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 4-17. As for Midway, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 8-8.

As of now, neither Crest Ridge nor the Vikings have any future games scheduled.
