Volleyball Recap: Monticello Extends Winning Streak to Three

Monticello had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They came out on top against the Rocori Spartans by a score of 2-0. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Magic also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

Alayna Opatz paced Monticello's offense, picking up ten kills. Opatz got some help from Brooklyn Sigler and her 12 assists.

Despite the loss, Rocori saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Mylie Hesse had 23 digs and one assist. Hesse has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more digs the last ten times she's played.

Monticello's win bumped their record up to 17-6. As for Rocori, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-11 record this season.

Monticello wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-1 victory against Princeton on the 10th. As for Rocori, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-1 win against Canby on the 10th.
