Basketball Preview: Calaveras Red Hawks vs. Bret Harte Bullfrogs

Calaveras is 10-0 against the Bullfrogs since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Calaveras Red Hawks will head out on the road to take on the Bret Harte Bullfrogs at 7:15 p.m. Calaveras is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.

Even though Argonaut scored an imposing 55 points on Tuesday, Calaveras still came out on top. Calaveras snuck past the Mustangs with a 59-55 victory. Winning is a bit easier when you work as a team to rack up seven more assists than your opponent, as Calaveras did.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Calaveras to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mason Moser, who almost dropped a triple-double on 12 points, nine rebounds, and nine assists. Moser hasn't dropped below two steals for nine straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Mcdaniel, who scored 14 points along with three steals.

Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Bret Harte, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 63-47 loss to the Wildcats on Tuesday.

Calaveras now has a winning record of 13-12. As for Bret Harte, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-11.

Calaveras didn't have too much breathing room in their match against the Bullfrogs when the teams last played two weeks ago, but they still walked away with a 50-46 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Calaveras since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
