Elkton is 1-6 against Lowell since April of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Elks will head out on the road to challenge the Devils at 4:30 p.m. Elkton has given up an average of 18.9 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Elkton is headed into Monday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 13th straight game dating back to last season on Saturday. They came up short against Yoncalla, falling 28-5.
Amira Harper made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and three RBI. Neacye Gould also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.
Lowell never got on the board in their matchup on Wednesday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Oakridge on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Warriors 14-13. The Devils haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.
Marley Plahn made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Plahn was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Maddy Thurman was incredible, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, five RBI, and three doubles. Jade Clark was another key player, going 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
Lowell kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in May of 2024.
Elkton's loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Lowell, their record is now 4-6.
Elkton might still be hurting after the 18-3 defeat they got from Lowell when the teams last played on April 2nd. Can the Elks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
