Whitwell lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Gordonsville, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Thursday's matchup. Whitwell blew past Gordonsville 19-10 on Thursday. Considering Whitwell has won 11 contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Jacob McCurry was a standout: he got on base in all five of his plate appearances with three runs and four RBI. What's more, he posted three hits, the most he's had since back in April. Michael Kilgore was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs and three RBI.

Whitwell is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-11-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Gordonsville, their loss dropped their record down to 20-12.

Coming up, Whitwell will take on McKenzie on Tuesday. The Rebels will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Tigers surely won't give up without a fight. Gordonsville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
