Basketball Game Preview: Lexington Golden Bears vs. Wilson Warriors

Lexington and Wilson are an even 5-5 against one another since November of 2016, but not for long. The Lexington Golden Bears will take on the Wilson Warriors at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.

Lexington easily dispatched Lindsay Lane Christian Academy on Tuesday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. Lexington fell just short of Lauderdale County by a score of 42-40 on Friday.

Meanwhile, Wilson strolled past St. John Paul II with points to spare on Saturday, taking the game 74-57. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 189th, while the Falcons are ranked 421st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Lexington's defeat dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Wilson, their win bumped their record up to 17-9.

Lexington ended up a good deal behind Wilson when the teams last played back in December of 2024, losing 66-47. Can Lexington avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
