River Ridge takes down Tift County in a playoff battle

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the River Ridge Knights walked away with it. They strolled past the Blue Devils with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 64-49. The win was familiar territory for River Ridge who now have 18 in a row.

Allie Sweet was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 24 points and 16 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Makayla Roberson, who scored 12 points along with five assists.

River Ridge pushed their record up to 26-4 with that win, which was their 19th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Tift County, their defeat ended a 24-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 25-5.

River Ridge will take on Marist at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. River Ridge knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 12 games -- so hopefully Marist likes a good challenge. Tift County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
