Football Recap: Neshannock Lancers vs. South Side Rams
Neshannock dropped to 5-2 on Friday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins at home. They had to suffer through a 35-7 loss at the hands of the South Side Rams. The Lancers were red-hot offensively heading into the contest (they scored no less than 31 points in the three matchups prior), but the Rams' defense proved too tough.
Although Neshannock took the loss, they still got scores from Amari Rapchak and Jino Mozzocio.
As for South Side, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 7-1. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 37.0 points over those games.
Andrew Corfield was his usual excellent self, rushing for 255 yards and three TDs while picking up 12.1 yards per carry. Those 255 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.
Looking ahead, Neshannock will head out to face off against Summit Academy at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for South Side, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 45-7 defeat against Laurel on the 17th.
