Basketball Game Preview: Mullins Auctioneers vs. Manning Monarchs

The Mullins Auctioneers will take on the Manning Monarchs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Mullins is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 63.5 points per game this season.

Last Tuesday, Mullins was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 57-51 to Lake City. The game marked the Auctioneers' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Despite the defeat, Mullins saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Dakarai Worley went 6 for 9 on his way to 15 points along with six boards and four steals. Worley has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 15 times he's played. Christian Cornejo-Garcia was another key player, putting up four points.

Meanwhile, Manning entered their contest against Atlantic Collegiate Academy on Wednesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Manning lost 70-49 to Atlantic Collegiate Academy. While losing is never fun, the Monarchs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 92nd, while the Armada are ranked 18th).

Manning's loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 11-4. As for Mullins, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-3.
