Football Game Preview: Riverside Pirates vs. Heppner Mustangs + How To Watch

Riverside hasn't had much luck against Heppner recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Pirates will head out on the road to take on the Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. Riverside has given up an average of 30.3 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

On Friday, Riverside took a blow against Grant Union, falling 46-6.

Sergio Avalos put forth a good effort for the losing side as he rushed for 100 yards and one score on only 11 carries.

Meanwhile, Heppner strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Weston-McEwen 61-6. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Mustangs' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Oregon football rankings (they are ranked second, while the TigerScots are ranked 27th).

Heppner's win bumped their record up to 7-0. As for Riverside, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.

Riverside was dealt a bruising 44-13 loss at the hands of Heppner when the teams last played back in October of 2024. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Pirates were down 44-0.
