Basketball Game Preview: Clear Creek Golddiggers vs. Lyons Lions

Clear Creek hasn't had much luck against Lyons recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Clear Creek Golddiggers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Lyons Lions at 5:30 p.m.

Clear Creek is headed into Thursday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 19th straight game dating back to last season on Tuesday. They were dealt a 66-19 loss at the hands of SkyView Academy. The Golddiggers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-5.

Elizabeth Rooney put forth a good effort for the losing side as she posted ten points and four steals. That was a full 52.6% of Clear Creek's points, marking the sixth time in a row Rooney has scored more than a third of the team's points.

Meanwhile, Lyons was able to grind out a solid victory over Union Colony Prep on Tuesday, taking the game 47-35. The Lions haven't had any issues with the Timberwolves recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Lyons' victory bumped their record up to 12-6. As for Clear Creek, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-18.
