Baseball Recap: Taconic Finds Playoff Glory Versus Cardinal Spellman

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Taconic had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Cardinal Spellman Cardinals 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Thunder have posted since April 23rd.

Taconic is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-11 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. As for Cardinal Spellman, they moved to 11-12 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Taconic has already played their next contest (against Fairhaven), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Cardinal Spellman does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
