Basketball Recap: Fort Yukon Takes a Loss

Fort Yukon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 74-55 bruising from the Effie Kokrine Charter Warriors. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alaska basketball rankings (they are ranked 76th, while the Warriors are ranked 19th).

Jonas Carroll continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Effie Kokrine Charter, putting up 21 points. The matchup was Carroll's sixth in a row with at least 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Strom, who posted 14 points.

Fort Yukon's loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Effie Kokrine Charter, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-1.

Fort Yukon does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Effie Kokrine Charter, they will be playing at home against Tok on Friday. One thing working in Effie Kokrine Charter's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six games.
