Recap: Sunrise Mountain Mustangs vs. Apollo Hawks
The Sunrise Mountain Mustangs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight loss. They took a hard 67-53 fall against Apollo. Sunrise Mountain was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Apollo apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Despite the loss, Sunrise Mountain still got an impressive performance from Caden Hammond, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Trey Hill, who scored 12 points.
Sunrise Mountain has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-13 record this season. As for Apollo, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 16-6.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Willow Canyon the next time they take the court. Sunrise Mountain will host Willow Canyon at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while Apollo will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
