Basketball Recap: Lamar Beats Bellaire for Their Fourth Straight Win

Lamar had won three straight games and Phoenix Sneed did her part to make it four on Friday. The Lamar Texans came out on top against the Bellaire Cardinals by a score of 63-55 thanks in part to Sneed, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 22 boards. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Lamar's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Kaliya Randle, who posted seven points and seven rebounds. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points.

Despite the loss, Bellaire still got an impressive performance from Tyniah Smith, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 16 boards. The game was Smith's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Indiana Pak, who earned nine points along with six steals and five rebounds.

Lamar has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.3 points per game. As for Bellaire, with the loss, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 16-10.

Lamar will take on Houston Math Science & Tech at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Lamar is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.6 points per game this season. Bellaire does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
