Basketball Game Preview: Combs Coyotes vs. Eastmark Firebirds

The Combs Coyotes will venture away from home to face off against the Eastmark Firebirds at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 79-49, which was the final score in Combs' tilt against ALA - Queen Creek on Friday. The Coyotes haven't had much luck with the Patriots recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Meanwhile, Eastmark got the win against Coronado on Tuesday by a conclusive 78-58. Given the Firebirds' advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 112th, while the Dons are ranked 282nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Eastmark has also been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 15-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.8 points per game. As for Combs, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-11.

Combs came up short against Eastmark in their previous matchup two weeks ago, falling 72-59. Can Combs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
