Baseball Recap: Faith Lutheran Finds Playoff Glory Versus Las Vegas

It's playoff time, and Faith Lutheran had no trouble coming through when it counted. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Las Vegas Wildcats 1-0. The victory continues a trend for the Crusaders in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won seven in a row.

Jordan Watkins tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 13 over 8.1 innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Faith Lutheran is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 13-14 otherwise.

At the plate, Faith Lutheran's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Kingston Kela, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Faith Lutheran's victory bumped their record up to 18-14. As for Las Vegas, their loss dropped their record down to 20-10.

Looking ahead, Faith Lutheran is taking a road trip to face off against Palo Verde at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Las Vegas, they will square off against Foothill at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Wildcats are facing the Falcons at the right time seeing as the Falcons are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
