Baseball Recap: Century Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Century, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Monday. They put the hurt on the Glencoe Crimson Tide with a sharp 7-1 win on Wednesday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Jaguars as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Diego Lopez made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four). He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Damien Elizarraras, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Lucas Gardner, who scored two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Century's win bumped their record up to 4-8. As for Glencoe, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 7-5.

Century will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Crimson Tide: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
