Softball Recap: Pontotoc Comes Up Short

Pontotoc lost against New Hope last Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Warriors took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Trojans. The Warriors' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it five in a row.

Pontotoc saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Star Williams, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Pontotoc's loss dropped their record down to 11-8. As for New Hope, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season.

Pontotoc will host Nettleton at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Warriors surely won't give up without a fight. As for New Hope, they will head out on the road to square off against Lafayette at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
