Baseball Recap: North Marion Colts vs. Umatilla Bulldogs
With a playoff win on the line, North Marion rose to the challenge on Thursday. They came out on top against the Umatilla Bulldogs by a score of 6-2. Six seems to be a good number for the Colts as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.
Ayden Gonzalez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on three hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Troy Guynn was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run. C.J. Sayler also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
