3A Metro - Mountain recap November 5, 2013
Addison Hull of Eastside Catholic ran for the longest rushing play in 3A Metro - Mountain this season against Cleveland last week. Hull scampered for 65 yards on the play and finished with 70 on the day as his team defeated the Eagles.
Bainbridge led the league in scoring this week after putting up 59 points on Franklin.
Eastside Catholic's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Harley Kirsch threw for 215 and 3 touchdowns and Matt Laris had 119 yards receiving. On the ground Hull chipped in 70 yards. Colin Boit helped Eastside Catholic's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 68 yards.
He was 11-16 with 0 interceptions.
Laris was the best receiver in the league this week as Jeremy Thielbahr's team bested Cleveland. Laris tallied 5 receptions for 119 yards. Boit helped Eastside Catholic's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 68 yards.
Eastside Catholic's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Crusaders feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Kirsch has thrown for 2,115 yards and 24 touchdowns this season, while Devon Arbis-Jackson has 52 catches for 800 yards.
The Spartans made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 10,644 from 11,191. The improvement was the result of a 59-14 victory over the Quakers last week.
