Basketball Game Preview: North Creek Jaguars vs. Newport - Bellevue Knights

North Creek and Newport - Bellevue are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2018, but not for long. The North Creek Jaguars will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Newport - Bellevue Knights at 6:30 p.m. North Creek is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.5 points per game this season.

Having struggled with three defeats in a row, North Creek turned things around against Sammamish on Tuesday. They managed a 49-43 victory over the RedHawks.

It was another big night for Seirat Bhullar, who went 8 for 16 on her way to 26 points and six rebounds. That's the most points she has posted since back in December of 2023. Jocelyn Tamayo was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Meanwhile, Newport - Bellevue lost to Redmond at home by a 67-49 margin on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 189th, while the Mustangs are ranked 24th).

North Creek's win bumped their record up to 14-6. As for Newport - Bellevue, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season.

Everything went North Creek's way against Newport - Bellevue when the teams last played on January 8th, as North Creek made off with a 75-54 victory. Will North Creek repeat their success, or does Newport - Bellevue have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
