Veritas Prep had won ten straight games and Bella Espinosa did her part to make it 11 on Wednesday. The Falcons came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Phoenix Country Day Eagles with plenty of help from Espinosa, who had 24 digs and two aces. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last ten games she's played.

If you add up the scores from across all five sets (105-103) Veritas Prep actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The final score came out to 25-22, 22-25, 14-25, 25-18, 17-15.

Veritas Prep's record is now 21-10. As for Phoenix Country Day, their defeat ended a ten-match streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 18-3.

Looking ahead, Veritas Prep will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Glendale Prep Academy at 6:00 p.m. As for Phoenix Country Day, they will head out on the road to take on Horizon Honors at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
