Football Game Preview: Coeur d'Alene Vikings vs. Timberline Wolves + Official Tickets

The Coeur d'Alene Vikings will take on the Timberline Wolves at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Coeur d'Alene knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 31 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Timberline likes a good challenge.

Coeur d'Alene is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They blew past Madison 42-14. Considering the Vikings have won seven games by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Timberline faced Middleton in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Wolves took down the Vikings 21-7. Winning may never get old, but the Wolves sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Timberline's win came from a few key players Coeur d'Alene will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Jack Brant, who rushed for 102 yards and one TD, and also threw for 119 yards and one touchdown. Hudson Lewis was in the mix as well, providing Timberline with two scores.

Timberline didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Karl Fransen and Lewis. Fransen has been hot recently, having also posted eight or more total tackles the last three times he's played. Timberline got some further help from Austin Engroff: he made 12 total tackles (2.5 for loss).

Coeur d'Alene's win bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Timberline, their victory bumped their record up to 9-1.

Everything came up roses for Coeur d'Alene against Timberline when the teams last played back in November of 2020, as the team secured a 56-7 win. In that matchup, the Vikings amassed a halftime lead of 42-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
