Basketball Recap: Gladwin Comes Up Short

Gladwin entered their contest against Standish-Sterling on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Gladwin Flying G's took a 75-68 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Standish-Sterling Panthers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Flying G's this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 54-45 back in January.

Gladwin's defeat dropped their record down to 14-3. As for Standish-Sterling, the win (which was their 14th in a row) raised their record to 16-2.

Gladwin and Standish-Sterling should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings. Gladwin (ranked 141st) will meet Valley Lutheran (ranked 424th) at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Gladwin will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak alive. Meanwhile, Standish-Sterling will square off against Shepherd at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday up 434 places (123 vs. 557).
