Softball Recap: Franklin County Flyers vs. North Oldham Mustangs
Franklin County was not the first on the board on Wednesday, but they got there more often. They had just enough and edged out the North Oldham Mustangs 7-6.
The team relied heavily on Emma Olds, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base. That home run was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of K McGowan, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.
Franklin County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .419. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as North Oldham only posted a batting average of .241.
Franklin County now has a winning record of 3-2. As for North Oldham, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Franklin County will head out to take on Frankfort at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Franklin County's pitchers better be ready for this one: Frankfort has averaged an impressive 7.8 runs per game this season. As for North Oldham, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Pleasure Ridge Park at 6:00 p.m. on April 8.
