Football Recap: Dynamic Duo of Blake Gelly and Carter Harris Lead Highland to Victory + How To Watch

Highland won the last time they faced Alton and things went their way on Friday too. The Bulldogs came out on top against the Redbirds by a score of 34-24. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Bulldogs considering their 13-point performance the game before.

Highland was led to victory by Carter Harris and Blake Gelly. Harris gained 247 total yards, while Gelly gained 359 total yards. Gelly's passing game has become a key predictor of the Bulldogs' success: the team is 4-1 when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-2 otherwise.

Despite the loss, Alton still got an impressive performance from Cayden Robinson, who rushed for 123 yards and a pair of scores, and also threw for 132 yards and one TD.

Highland is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. As for Alton, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-9.

Looking ahead, Highland will take on Freeburg at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. That matchup will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Harris and Cooper Kisgen. Alton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
