Baseball Game Preview: Aransas Pass Panthers vs. Odem Owls

Aransas Pass is 0-10 against Odem since April of 2019 but things could change on Friday. The Panthers will face off against the Owls at 7:30 p.m.

Aransas Pass fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Taft on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Greyhounds by a score of 4-3. The Panthers' loss continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Meanwhile, Odem gave up the first runs on Tuesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They skirted past West Oso 5-3. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Owls.

John Harrington spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on four hits and racked up ten Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Eric Swisher, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. He also put up a triple, which was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Gio Beltran, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.

Aransas Pass' defeat dropped their record down to 6-10-1. As for Odem, their win bumped their record up to 12-7.

Aransas Pass might still be hurting after the 17-3 loss they got from Odem in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
