Football Recap: Park Tudor Starts off Right with Win over Covenant Christian

Park Tudor had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They came out on top against the Covenant Christian Warriors by a score of 44-34 on Friday. For the Panthers, this counts as revenge for the 35-6 victory the Warriors walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2022.

Christopher Harris went supernova, rushing for 219 yards and one score on only 15 carries, while also throwing for 247 yards and five touchdowns while completing 75.9% of his passes. That's the most passing yards he has posted since back in September of 2024. Park Tudor's leading receiver Landon Guerra was Harris' top target yet again, picking up 85 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Park Tudor was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 267 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Covenant Christian only rushed for 141 rushing yards.

Park Tudor didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jameson Harney and Caden Hobbs.

Despite the loss, Covenant Christian had strong showings from Zeb Cox, who rushed for 41 yards and three touchdowns, and Henry Schafer, who gained 108 total yards and a touchdown. Schafer was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield on a catch that went for 56 yards.

Park Tudor didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 45-0 win against Tindley on the 29th. As for Covenant Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 14-0 victory against Indianapolis Shortridge on the 29th.
