Recap: Sheldon Panthers vs. Miami Eagles
The Sheldon Panthers were the 37-33 winner over the Miami Eagles when they last played one another back in November of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Sheldon fell to Miami 37-33.
When it comes to explaining why Sheldon lost on Thursday, one person who can't be blamed is Mariam Lamb. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 20 points and 14 rebounds. That was a full 60.6% of Sheldon's points, marking the seventh time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Britain Korsi was another key contributor, scoring four points along with nine rebounds.
Sheldon's loss dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Miami, their victory bumped their record up to 1-3-1.
Sheldon won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Chilhowee at 5:30 p.m. on January 26th. Chilhowee presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Sheldon in Missouri (Chilhowee is ranked 172nd, while Sheldon is ranked 454th). As for Miami, they will head out on the road to square off against Hume at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
