Basketball Game Preview: Clinton Arrows vs. Callaway Chargers

Clinton and Callaway are an even 4-4 against one another since November of 2014, but not for long. The Clinton Arrows will venture away from home to take on the Callaway Chargers at 8:30 p.m. on Monday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Clinton is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Mississippi's top teams: Germantown, who was ranked first at the time (Clinton was ranked 22nd). Clinton fell to Germantown 71-67.

Meanwhile, Callaway was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 50-45 to Vicksburg. The Chargers have struggled against the Gators recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Callaway's defeat dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Clinton, their loss dropped their record down to 11-8.

Clinton beat Callaway 70-57 in their previous matchup back in November of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Clinton since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
