Flag Football Recap: Sierra Takes a Loss

Sierra fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Manteca on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They were just a hair shy of victory and fell 13-12 to the Buffaloes. The Timberwolves' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Although Sierra took the loss, they still got scores from Kileyann O'Neill and Tessa Zalunardo.

Sierra didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off six passes before the game was over. Maitland Kohoutek led the group effort, picking up three of those interceptions all by herself. O'Neill has been hot, having also posted at least one defended passe the last seven times she's played. She got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Sierra's loss dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Manteca, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season.

Sierra wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 26-0 defeat against East Union on the 7th. As for Manteca, they will take on Mountain House at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
