Ainsworth posted their closest victory since October 12, 2024 on Thursday. They won by a set and slipped past the Chambers/Wheeler Central Renegades 2-1. The win continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Renegades: they've now won five in a row.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Ainsworth got the one that really mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 23-25, 25-11.

Ainsworth found their leader in freshman Lily Beel, who had ten digs and five aces. Those five aces set a new season-high mark for Beel.

Ainsworth was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 14 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Chambers/Wheeler Central only served two aces.

Several Renegades players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Abby Ehlers, who had ten digs.

Ainsworth's victory bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Chambers/Wheeler Central, they are on a 17-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Ainsworth has already played their next matchup, a 2-1 defeat against North Central on the 11th. As for Chambers/Wheeler Central, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 2-1 loss against Fullerton on the 13th.
