Baseball Recap: Damonte Ranch Takes a Loss

Damonte Ranch was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Reed Raiders. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Mustangs of the 9-3 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Kolten Matter was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run over 4.2 innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Jake Wigfield was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two runs. That home run was his first of the season.

Damonte Ranch's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Reed, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-6.
