Volleyball Recap: Sumner Puts Losing Streak Behind Them + How To Watch

There's no place like home for Sumner, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Gaither Cowboys on Thursday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Stingrays as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

The final score came out to 25-15, 23-25, 25-18, 25-15.

Sumner's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Adriah Lynch led the charge by getting 13 digs and two aces. Those two aces gave Lynch a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Alana Mitchell, who had 12 digs and five aces.

They weren't the only good server: Sumner was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 18 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in four consecutive matches.

The win got Sumner back to even at 7-7. As for Gaither, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-5.

After both having extra time off, Sumner and East Bay will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Gaither, they will face off against Alonso at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
