Basketball Recap: Lutheran Takes a Loss

Lutheran was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They took a blow against Miller Career Academy, falling 81-52. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 252nd, while Miller Career Academy are ranked 81st).

Lutheran's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Miller Career Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.

Lutheran will take on Lutheran North in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Miller Career Academy and Mt. Vernon will compete for holiday cheer on Friday. Miller Career Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Mt. Vernon likes a good challenge.
