Baseball Recap: Greenfield Has No Trouble Against Wheeler

Greenfield had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Wheeler on Saturday. Greenfield blew past Wheeler 11-1. The result was nothing new for the Yellowjackets, who have now won three contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Elijah St. Romain, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Baker Biggs, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.

Greenfield always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .615. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Greenfield's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Wheeler, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.

Greenfield will head out to challenge Obion County at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. We've got a battle between Eagles coming up. Wheeler is facing Tremont at the right time seeing as Tremont is stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
