Basketball Recap: Chadron's Victory on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Chadron put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against the Gering Bulldogs by a score of 59-46. This was payback for the Cardinals, who suffered a 67-51 loss the last time these two teams met.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Chadron to victory, but perhaps none more so than Derek Bissonette, who went 10-for-24 en route to 20 points and four steals. The matchup was Bissonette's fourth in a row with at least 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyson Pourier, who almost dropped a double-double with 15 points and nine rebounds.

Chadron was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Gering only racked up nine.

Despite the defeat, Gering had strong showings from Max Judy, who shot 43% from the field to rack up 14 points and five boards, and Gage Ruzicka, who posted ten points and four steals. Ruzicka has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played.

Chadron's record is now 4-0. As for Gering, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chadron will take on Alliance in a holiday battle at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Gering, they will be home for the holidays to greet Torrington on Thursday.
