Baseball Game Preview: Moses Brown Quakers vs. Coventry Oakers

The Moses Brown Quakers will square off against the Coventry Oakers at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses for Moses Brown and four for Coventry.

Moses Brown is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Rhode Island's top teams: Westerly, who was ranked 12th at the time (Moses Brown was ranked 17th). The Quakers fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 2-0 on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Quakers have suffered since May 22, 2024.

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Thursday as neither Coventry nor Cranston West made it on the board until the seventh inning. The Oakers fell just short of the Falcons by a score of 5-3.

Coventry's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Moses Brown, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.

Moses Brown beat Coventry 3-0 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Will the Quakers repeat their success, or do the Oakers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
