Volleyball Game Preview: Mission Vista vs. Bonita Vista Barons

Mission Vista will challenge the Bonita Vista Barons at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bonita Vista took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Mission Vista, who comes in off a win.

Two weeks ago, Mission Vista made easy work of Mission Hills and carried off a 3-0 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Mission Vista.

The final score came out to 25-17, 25-21, 25-17.

EJ Catapang was the offensive standout of the match as he had eight digs and three aces. Those three aces gave him a new career-high. Tillman Rexrode also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

Meanwhile, Bonita Vista was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 3-1 to Sage Creek.

While Bonita Vista ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 17 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-19, 18-25, 25-23.

Bonita Vista's defeat dropped their record down to 12-9. As for Mission Vista, their victory bumped their record up to 10-11.

Mission Vista took their win against Bonita Vista when the teams last played back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. Will Mission Vista repeat their success, or does Bonita Vista has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
