Baseball Game Preview: Dora Coyotes vs. Elida Tigers

Dora is 1-9 against Elida since April of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Coyotes will challenge the Tigers at 10:00 a.m. Dora has given up an average of 15.1 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Dora fell victim to Gateway Christian and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They lost 16-0 to the Warriors. Having soared to a lofty 14 runs in the game before, the Coyotes' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Meanwhile, Elida didn't have quite enough to beat Melrose on Monday and fell 13-12. The defeat continues a trend for the Tigers in their meetings with the Buffaloes: they've now lost three in a row.

Coda Cathey made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Cason Norman, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

Elida's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Dora, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-10.

Dora might still be hurting after the 19-5 loss they got from Elida in their previous matchup back in March. Can the Coyotes avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
