Basketball Recap: Delta Rabbits vs. North Sanpete Hawks
The Delta Rabbits were the 62-56 winner over the North Sanpete Hawks when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Delta took a 54-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hawks. Delta has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Delta lost on Wednesday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Cai Henderson, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. Henderson has been hot recently, having posted 16 or more points the last ten times he's played. Marcus Chase was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with eight rebounds.
Leading North Sanpete to victory were Dimick Huntington and Ridge Hendry. Huntington scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and three steals, while Hendry scored 20 points along with two blocks. Hendry hasn't dropped below 20 points for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Cole Cook, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds.
Delta dropped their record down to 5-14 with that defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road. As for North Sanpete, their win bumped their record up to 8-11.
Delta will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Wasps at 7:00 p.m. As for North Sanpete, they will head out on the road to square off against the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Richfield focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Wednesday.
