Softball Recap: Wagner Comes Up Short

If Wagner was feeling good fresh off their 10-4 takedown of Winner on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Red Raiders fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 7-6 on Thursday. The Red Raiders were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Warriors earlier this season, when they won 10-4.

Bella Kotab made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole three bases while going 2-for-3. That run marked the first that she scored this season. Another player making a difference was Libby Kotab, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 1-for-2.

Wagner's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Winner, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wagner will be taking part in a tournament against Avon at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Winner, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Hanson at 5:00 p.m. on the 21st.
