Ramah took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Tse' Yi' Gai 49-46.
Meanwhile, Navajo Pine played a tough match on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by Pine Hill 71-40. Navajo Pine was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-14.
Despite the defeat, Navajo Pine saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Chad Tsosie went 7 of 13 on his way to 15 points and three steals. Those 15 points gave Tsosie a new career-high. Isaiah Johnson was another key player, putting up two points and five steals.
Ramah's win ended a ten-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-12. As for Navajo Pine, their loss dropped their record down to 2-12.
