Garden City is 9-1 against Goodland since May of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Buffaloes will host the Cowboys at 3:00 p.m. Goodland took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Garden City, who comes in off a win.

Garden City's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. Everything went their way against Scott as they made off with a 15-0 win.

Kyleigh Whitehurst made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). Whitehurst was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.

In other batting news, Garden City got a massive performance out of Piper Harris, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Zayla Peck, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Meanwhile, Goodland didn't have quite enough to beat Hugoton on Tuesday and fell 10-8.

Alessa Rickard made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those RBI were her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Elly Evert, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Goodland's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Garden City, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.
