Recap: Middleton Cardinals vs. Sun Prairie West Wolves
The Middleton Cardinals were the 51-50 winner over the Sun Prairie West Wolves when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Middleton fell to Sun Prairie West 77-73. Despite running the score up even higher than they did last Thursday (65), Middleton still had to take the loss.
Chris Davis Jr was his usual excellent self, scoring 42 points along with three steals for Sun Prairie West. The contest was Davis Jr's 11th in a row with at least ten points. Tavian Crawford was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Middleton are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-4. As for Sun Prairie West, they pushed their record up to 9-2 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Middleton will square off against Janesville Parker at 5:15 p.m. on Saturday. Janesville Parker will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Wisconsin Rankings (they are ranked 365th, while Middleton is ranked 102nd). As for Sun Prairie West, they will head out on the road to face off against Sun Prairie East at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Sun Prairie East's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
