Recap: North Nodaway Mustangs vs. Rock Port Blue Jays

The North Nodaway Mustangs have been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a 46-32 bruising from Rock Port on Thursday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points North Nodaway has scored all season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Rock Port to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jack Meyerkorth, who scored 15 points. Meyerkorth has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last seven times he's played. Cade Makings was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.

North Nodaway's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-4. As for Rock Port, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-4.

North Nodaway will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on DeKalb at 7:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024. Rock Port and Hale will round out the year against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday at. Hale knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three games -- so hopefully Rock Port likes a good challenge.
