Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hickory Ridge). Their defense stepped up to hand the West Cabarrus Wolverines an 8-0 shutout on Friday. Hickory Ridge haven't had any issues with West Cabarrus recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Hickory Ridge's offense was hitting West Cabarrus from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal. Aubrey Hutchins led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

Hickory Ridge pushed their record up to 13-0 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those seven games. As for West Cabarrus, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.

Hickory Ridge will head out to take on Hickory at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Hickory will roll in looking for their 14th straight victory, something Hickory Ridge surely won't give up without a fight. As for West Cabarrus, they will welcome South Iredell at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
