Softball Game Preview: Polytechnic Panthers vs. Grace Lancers

The Polytechnic Panthers will face off against the Grace Lancers at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Polytechnic will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Polytechnic proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by 16) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Harvard-Westlake, sneaking past 5-3.

The team relied heavily on Dannika Rivera, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. She is on a roll when it comes to RBI, as she's now brought in three or more in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Brynn Connolly, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Grace, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Buena on Wednesday as they made off with a 13-6 victory. The Lancers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by six runs or more this season.

The win got Grace back to even at 7-7. As for Polytechnic, their victory bumped their record up to 8-2.
